The Roots


Nardos: Lutong Barako was named after the late, Don Bernardo Punzalan Sr. A man from the Heritage Town, Taal in the heart of the beautiful province of Batangas.

Don Bernardo was well-known by his friends and families for his lutong-pinoy dishes. He served food made the guests feel that they are home or perhaps, they're in the province.

Nardos: Lutong Barako aims to continue his legacy of making people feel that they are loved through the food that it serves to its patronizers.

NARDOS: Lutong Barako caters TAAL Delicacies to its costumers; making them feel that food from TAAL Batangas is never a difficulty to experience.

Tapang Taal – pork marinated in soy sauce, garlic, and calamansi

Longganisa – a local sausage made of ground pork, stuffed in pig intestine, and tied into several portions

Suman sa Gata – one sticky rice variant shaped into tube and wrapped in banana leaves

Suman sa Lihiya - also known as sumang magkayakap, another sticky rice variant wrapped in banana leaves. What makes Nardos version special, it is served with latik or coconut brittles and coco jam.

Sinaing na tulingan – one of the most famous dishes in the province, having the abundance of tulingan (mackerel tuna) in the waters of Batangas

Tsokolate (tableya) – cocoa tablet (used in the Filipino dish, champorado) or the rich chocolate drink

Adobo sa dilaw – just like the usual adobo but cooked with turmeric or luyang dilaw that gives this dish its yellow color
